Owner/President

David N. Olson founded Monarch Acquisitions, LLC in 2006 after building more than two decades of experience in retail development, site transformation, and construction management. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed projects ranging from smaller-scale developments to large commercial projects exceeding $25 million in value.

Prior to founding Monarch Acquisitions, David served as Vice President and Director of Project Management for Casco Corporation, a nationally recognized architectural and engineering firm specializing in retail rollout and site development. During his time there, he managed nationwide projects for major retail brands including The Home Depot, Circuit City, Toys “R” Us, and Babies “R” Us, overseeing developments across the country from New York to California.

David’s experience spans every phase of development, including site selection, zoning approvals, budgeting, scheduling, and construction oversight. Known for his strong understanding of project timelines and cost management, he has played a key role in the successful completion of more than $600 million in development projects throughout his career. His portfolio includes projects for nationally recognized brands such as Academy Sports + Outdoors, Natural Grocers, ALDI, PetSmart, Target, Ross, Five Guys, Party City, Petco, and many others.

Based in Overland Park, Kansas, David lives with his wife and two sons. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology from Missouri Western State University.

Jacqueline Olson

Vice President

Jacqueline Olson brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, and project management. Her professional background combines private sector expertise with nonprofit and public sector experience, giving her a well-rounded approach to communication, relationship management, and strategic planning.

Before joining Monarch Acquisitions, Jacqueline held leadership roles with companies including The Hershey Company and Corporate Express, where she developed extensive experience in sales operations, marketing initiatives, and client-focused project coordination. She also played a key role in establishing a nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting children affected by pediatric cancer through 501(c)(3) development and fundraising efforts.

Jacqueline is recognized for her ability to build long-term relationships, adapt to evolving project needs, and maintain strong communication throughout every stage of development. Her collaborative approach and organizational leadership help support projects that stay aligned with client expectations, schedules, and budgets.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.

Drew Larkins

Project Manager of Engineering & Construction

Drew Larkins oversees project budgeting, scheduling, consultant coordination, contractor management, and day-to-day construction oversight for Monarch Acquisitions. His experience spans multiple sectors within the construction industry, including retail, hospitality, multi-family, mixed-use, and industrial warehouse developments.

Throughout his career, Drew has managed projects ranging from $500,000 to more than $44 million in value. He is known for taking a proactive and collaborative approach to project management, helping maintain strong relationships between contractors, municipalities, consultants, and development teams throughout every phase of construction.

Drew approaches each project with a focus on problem solving, communication, and thoughtful execution. He values asking questions, exploring solutions from multiple perspectives, and helping teams work through challenges efficiently to keep projects moving forward successfully.

Prior to joining Monarch Acquisitions in 2021, Drew worked with a Missouri-based general contractor serving clients nationwide. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Rigby McClure

Project Manager of Engineering & Construction

With a strong background in managing high-value projects across diverse industries, Rigby brings an expertise in delivering complex developments from concept to completion. Over the course of his early career, he successfully has overseen projects exceeding $160 million in total value (projects in industrial, infrastructure, and multifamily), ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality at every stage.

Academically, Rigby holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas, which provided a strong foundation for his work. His experience bridges technical know-how with strategic foresight, allowing him to deliver tailored solutions that align with client goals and industry standards.

Prior to joining Monarch Acquisitions, Rigby worked with Brinkmann Constructors. Rigby lives in Overland Park, KS with his wife and daughter. He enjoys golfing, playing pickleball and the outdoors.

Jake Minet

Project Manager of Engineering & Construction

Jake Minet is a project manager who brings over 6 years of experience in construction management and development. With project management experience in the commercial office, education, retail, and athletic facilities sectors across new-builds and renovations, Jake has completed projects that range in value from $14 million to $55+ million.

Prior to joining Drake/Monarch, Jake worked with JE Dunn Construction and Life Time Property Development.

Jake takes pride in bringing a proposed project from concept to completion with an emphasis on detail and ensuring all major stakeholders remain invested to deliver a quality product to the end-user.

From Overland Park KS, Jake graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He lives in Kansas City KS with his fiancée, Itzel, and enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time outdoors in his free time.
